Los Angeles-based Troupe Vertigo creates spellbinding performances that ignite the imagination through stunning physical feats transformed into works of art. Committed to an eclectic and innovative fusion of circus, dance, and theater, Troupe Vertigo redefines visual space through displays of extraordinary physicality, artistry, and imagination.

Founded in 2009 by Artistic Director Aloysia Gavre, formerly of Cirque du Soleil, and Technical Director Rex Camphuis, whose roots trace back to the legendary Pickle Family Circus, Troupe Vertigo has become one of North America's leading cirque-theatrical ensembles.

Over the past decade, Troupe Vertigo has collaborated with more than 40 symphony orchestras throughout North America, earning recognition for its innovative concert productions and distinctive artistic vision. The company has appeared with the
Seattle Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Phoenix Symphony, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Nashville Symphony, Pacific Symphony, the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, San Diego Symphony, Oregon Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Grant Park Music Festival, Minnesota Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and Canada's National Arts Centre Orchestra, among many others.

Drawing from a wide spectrum of creative disciplines, Troupe Vertigo crafts theatrical worlds where highly stylized choreography, lighting, music, and movement intertwine to create richly imaginative visual landscapes.

SEATTLE SYMPHONY

Beyond the symphony stage, Troupe Vertigo premiered its first original production, Big Top for a New Generation, at Los Angeles' Ford Amphitheater in 2010. The company has since expanded its theatrical repertoire with acclaimed works including Nighthawks: A Film Noir Circusβ€”a stylish tribute inspired by American jazz, the paintings of Edward Hopper, and classic noir fictionβ€”and TABLEAUX, a contemporary work exploring the power of collaboration and illustrating how trust and collective effort can transform obstacles into opportunities for connection and growth. Originally presented at the Bootleg Theater, TABLEAUX was later featured at the San Francisco International Arts Festival, UCLA's Center for the Art of Performance as part of Taylor Mac's A 24-Decade History of Popular Music, the Hammer Museum, and VIVA FEST, the Las Vegas International Circus Festival.
